Mario Petracca

Born in Turin in 1956.
He is a professional player since 1980. He played into a consistent number of Jazz Groups, collaborating with musicians like: Tino Tracanna,Paolino Dalla Porta, Flavio Boltro, Maurizio Giammarco, Pierre Devret, Manu Roche (and many others, Italians and Foreigners ) having an intense concert's activity in Jazz Clubs, Theatres and so on. As member of the Group " Arti & Mestieri " he partecipated to a number of Jazz Concerts and Festivals, as well as, T.V. Programs (in Italy and EC) and recorded a few records including" Children's Blues " (Augusta Records,1985), his last work with them. In 1990 the track " Matteo ", from his record " Come ci dovremmo sentire al Mattino " (Mario Petracca Trio with Furio Di castri and Elio Rivagli, Alambicco Jazz Records,1990) won the First Prize on the Radio-Contest " New Composers - Music for Orion " organised by R.A.I.Tre (The Italian National Network, channel three). In 1994, as member of the Trio PMP (Penna, Mari, Petracca) he recorded the CD " Three Kinds of One "(for Map - Linearecords); currently,he plays with the Jazz Group " Walkabout " (a quartet with whom he recorded the omonymous CD in 1998) and co-leads a Duet with Andrea Penna. Since 1982 he teach in some Music Schools as the " Ilario Escobar " in Turin, as well as on the " Courses of Musical Formation " by the Community of Turin. He also realizes, time by time, a Formation and Clinics activity in the whole Italian territory.
