The
trio members are: Saverio Miele (Double Bass), Andrea Penna (Drums)
and Mario Petracca (Electric Guitar).
The main idea that generated the " Joint Venture " project, it's
to get a confluence from three different personalities ( who are feeling
music by a similar way ) into a completely new, joint way.
The project, characterized by an evident jazzistic approach, it's to play
and to deal with different musical matters, integrating them with a reciprocal
influence during playing. The three musicians former activity includes
collaborations with: Maurizio Giammarco, Flavio Boltro, Arthur Miles, Pierre
Drevet Paolino Dalla Porta, Stefano Cantini, Emanuele Cisi, and many others.
They were members of various Jazz Groups including:
Arti&Mestieri, P.M.P., Walkabout, Mano Negra, Riccardo Ruggeri Quartet,
Giorgio Li Calzi Quintet, partecipating to Jazz Concerts, Festivals and
television shows in Italy and other European Countries.
In the 2006 the trio will record a new cd |
They say about us :
Peter
Erskine - musician
"I
listened to your recording, and I was quite impressed by the playing
and the general ambience; some of the music reminded me of the trio I used
to play in with John Abercrombie and Marc Johnson. My compliments to you
and everyone in the group for the high levels of musicality!" |

Chico
Mileto - journalist
"The sound of the group surely brings back to jazz , nevertheless
some influences from different backgrounds are not missing and therefore,
at the concert in Aosta, bossa and fusion and even the blues pop in.
Together with the talented rhythmical section of Majorino and Penna, Petracca's
guitar ingeniousness gets in producing pieces which - with respect to
the listening to CD - lose some of the dreaming and meditative atmosphere
but certainly gain the concreteness and the warmth of the "live dimension".
At the end of the concert the group says: "Each of us grings a different
contribution but nevertheless both at the times of rehearsals and at the
moment of recording, a style has emerged in a natural way, without any
particular research, with pieces arranged easily and spontaneously, a
real, true "express arrangement".
Giordano
Selini - journalist
"The atmosphere gets hot with vigorous tension and the trio interplay grows
and rises in intensity; the result is in the sound expression of a warm
creative exploration."
